Using the In-world profile boards

For those about to rush:

  1. Join ZEN METAL Club at ZEN METAL Wanted in world board at the entrance.
  2. Prepare your photo. Upload a square picture and set it to copy+transfer. More help on how to do that below.
  3. Rent a dating board from an appropriate section at the ZEN METAL Wanted location. (Note there are sections for monogamous, polygamous, and polyamorous mashups.)
  4. Copy-paste the URL of your ZenMetal.club profile and connect ‘the Excellent’ Adboard used with ‘the Excellent’ Social Hud, which you can also use with any other LOW Industries ‘the Excellent’ adboard around Second Life. You can also add any relevant social media urls with the HUD. Alternatively, simply paste the URL(s) into a notecard and drop it into the dating board inworld.
  5. Holding down the CTRL-button, drag a square texture featuring your beautiful, handsome pixels from your inventory, along with the possible notecard into the board.
  6. Done! Wait for the messages to pour in, and check out other people’s boards in world. Look for the light orange globe to view their profile.

Once you “like” a board, the other user knows you want to go on a date with them.

Registering for ZenMetal.club

The registration for ZenMetal.club uses the usual procedure of signing up for any blog or online service, but available inworld SL.

Preparing your dating photo and notecard.

Choose a nice photo of yourself. Make it square. (One way to make it square is to use Canva.com.) We prefer photos of avatars to keep Second Life Second Life, but if you prefer, real life photo is acceptable, as long as it’s decent. (No xxx photos of real life people, please, I’ll be less strict with scantly glad avatars.)

  1. Name your file so you can give it to someone else without giving up your name.
  2. Upload it to Second Life server by choosing “Build -> Uploads -> Image.” This will charge you 10 Lindens on a free SL account.
  3. It’ll wind up in the recent folder, right click it and choose “properties.” See where it says “next owner” and tick “copy” and “transfer” but leave “modify” unticked.
  4. Create a new notecard from your inventory, and set the permissions the same way as for an image.

 

Email & Anonymity

While the use of email is technically a must, you are perfectly free to use an anonymous or even disposable email address such as Sneakemail.com. You’ll also will not be asked to enter a real name onto the website. (Only if you were to request a GoldSign verification, you’d be asked to prove who you are to ONE person.) However, you’ll need an email to ensure you won’t lose access to the account if you want to delete your profile later, in case you forget your password… Just don’t forget the password to your email! 😉

Emails are used on the login screen to ensure your username cannot be used for it. This increases security because the email address isn’t visible on the front end to anyone. The username might come up, but it is still recommended you fill the profile “nice name” or “nickname,” which will be shown in public instead of the username for those who have entered a nickname for themselves.

How do I find my profile URL for the in-world notecard?

Your profile url is formatted as

https://zenmetal.club/members/yourusername/

Hover your mouse over your profile photo in the top right corner of this website or HUD until a pop-up opens. Go to “profile” and ‘view.’

Copy the URL of the profile and paste it where you need it. Share where ever you want to and are allowed to.
